Quincell R. Wylie

Quincell R. Wylie, U.S. Air Force veteran, died on Saturday, Aug. 3, 2019. He was 73.

He was born on Nov. 20, 1945, in Philadelphia to the late Maxine and Alexander Wylie. He was the oldest of seven children.

Wylie served during the Vietnam War in the Air Force from 1965 to 1969. He obtained his associate degree from Peirce College.

He married Beulah, and they raised five children.

Wylie had various jobs and ultimately retired as a bill collector from Wachovia Bank. He enjoyed stamps and coin collecting as well as traveling. The family man also studied martial arts.

“One of his most notable traits was that he was always prepared for any situation that could possibly arise,” his family said in a tribute.

“His main characteristic was he always tried to share his knowledge whether personal, professional or just offering some additional thoughts for others to consider,” it said.

He is survived by: his brothers, Bruce, Zachary and John; sister, Linda; children, Edward, Quentin, Phillip, Sheree and David; 14 grandchildren; best friend, Edgar Allen; and other relatives and friends.

Services were held Aug. 13 at New Covenant Church of Philadelphia, 7500 Germantown Ave.
