Community festival to be held at Smith Playground

Bethanna will present a community festival from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 20 at the Smith Playground, 2100 S. 24th St.

The event will include backpack and food giveaways, a kids zone, a senior pavilion, arts and crafts and a resource fair. The live entertainment will feature performances by the Delfonics, Dezzie and comedian Turae.

Forum on mental health to be held at rec center

The Advisory Council of the Charles M. Finley Recreation Center will present a forum, “Shining Light on Mental Health Within the African-American Community,” from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 20 at 1000 E. Hortter St.

Workshops at the event will address trauma, faith-based integrated mental health and wellness recovery action planning. Representatives from various mental health organizations will be on site.

Unity day event to be held at Clara Muhammad Park

The Moorish Unification Council of the World Inc. will present unity day from 12 to 7 p.m. July 20 at Clara Muhammad Park, 4700 Wyalusing Ave.

The event will feature vendors, moon bounces, face painting, games, a chess tournament, pony rides and more.

South Philly reunion to be held in July

L.A. Production will present an all-white reunion from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. July 27 at the Laborers International Union of North America Local Union 332, 1310 Wallace St.

DJ Tony B. will provide the music. Comedian Keith From Up the Block will provide the live entertainment.
