Career fair for Hahnemann employees

In response to the pending closure of Hahnemann University Hospital, the City of Philadelphia, Philadelphia Works, Inc. and Hahnemann’s human resources department are hosting a career and resource fair for Hahnemann employees.

“Hire Hahnemann” will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. July 25 in Ballroom B at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, 1101 Arch St.

The fair will provide opportunities for hospital staff to meet directly with local employers and provide transitional and supportive resources for laid-off and soon-to-be laid-off workers.

Philadelphia Works aims to recruit at least 90 employers from industries of all types for the event.

Grand opening event for beer garden

The grand opening of the Monarch Beer Garden will be held from 7 to 10 p.m. Thursday at the Philadelphia Insectarium and Butterfly Pavilion, 8046 Frankford Ave.

The Monarch features all-local drinks, food and shopping, as well as live entertainment. The beer garden will be held every fourth Thursday, with a different vendor and entertainment lineup at each event.

Proceeds from the Monarch will go toward community safety and beautification projects in Holmesburg.

Organization to host summer event for seniors

InnovAge will present senior day from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. July 27 at 1940 W. Allegheny Ave. The event, which is geared toward older adults, family caregivers and U.S. military veterans, will include food, live entertainment, and blood pressure and pulse screenings. Tours of the InnovAge Life Center will also be offered.

South Philly Reunion to be held next week

L.A. Production will present an all-white reunion from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m. July 27 at the Laborers International Union of North America Local Union 332, 1310 Wallace St.

DJ Tony B. will provide the music. Comedian Keith From Up the Block will provide the live entertainment.
