Rev. John Dawkins and his daughter Danielle Dawkins-Alston reopened their McDonald’s site at Broad and Diamond streets Monday, Jan. 20, 2020.

The restaurant, on Temple University’s campus, has been renovated and outfitted with some of the latest technology.

During the reopening, Rev. Dawkins told of his roots as a franchise owner and how his family always had his back. Dawkins-Alston has led the renovated site for 10 years and now owns two others.

City Councilman Derek Green said they are continuing the Dawkins family legacy of economic empowerment and that the family is about “transferring wealth to the next generation.”
