West Philadelphia’s Rashaad Lambert has found his success by helping businesses, organizations and individuals find their success.

The CEO and founder of Sporty Marketing Group and TL Marketing Solutions has received numerous awards for his work in helping entrepreneurs to connect with potential consumers and help those businesses convert them into actual customers.

“We dig deep into their social media, into their digital atmosphere and pull out actionable metrics to help drive traffic to their stores, to their websites, just to their brands period,” Lambert said.

Lambert started Sporty Marketing group with his brother in 2009. “Sporty” is the nickname of his father whom he named the business after.

“My father passed away in 2007 and when I grew up we didn’t have the greatest relationship,” Lambert said. “A lot of time that I could have spent getting to know him later in life I wasted being angry about time that we didn’t spend together growing up.”

The name Sporty Marketing serves as a reminder that time is limited and time and resources should be used on the things that matter as opposed to holding on to old grudges, Lambert said.

“This translates across lines, not just in business but in our personal lives as well,” he said.

Lambert began as an aspiring rapper was part of a Rap group when he discovered something in the process that made an impact on his life.

“During one of the last meetings that we had we were looking at the number; we were looking at how things were paid for and reviewing our budget and one of the line items for our budget was our marketing,” he said.

“I never met our marketing people, I didn’t even know we had marketing people and it was a lot of money and I wanted to know why they were making so much money. They were making almost as much as we were making and we were the talent.”

Something clicked and Lambert took a closer look.

“I was about 15 or 16 [years-old] and I just started researching it.”

Subsequent to this research, Lambert began working as an event planner and became a part of the party promotions business where he would eventually do a significant amount of work for professional party promoters who weren’t computer savvy.

“I just kind of fell in love with the marketing piece, not necessarily promotions but the marketing piece which is the methodology behind how you promote and what drives traffic, what drives people, what makes people tick,” Lambert said.

Things clicked for Lambert who says that two of his favorite subjects are psychology and sociology and marketing entails both.

Today, Sporty Marketing has worked with both big and small clients, individuals and businesses to help them reach and engage consumers in their target market and he credits his team and other supporters for the success of his company.

“I think that is one of the reasons that we have been so successful is because I have been able to help other people reach their goals and reach their dreams and because of that they don’t mind helping us continue to move our company forward,” he said.

“I have a great team, a great support system I did not do it by myself and without those people I probably wouldn’t have been able to succeed in the way we have.”

Sporty Marketing specializes in brand management and development has also created what it calls ‘digital canvassing’.

“We created digital canvassing and no other company offers it,” Lambert said. “Digital canvassing is the idea of figuring out who you are actually speaking to when you send out a tweet, who is reading your email. Not just how many people but their profiles, who those people are: Are they married, do they have children, do they live in the suburbs or the city? Those are actionable metrics.”

Forbes Magazine, Adidas, Sneaker Villa, even elected officials and municipalities have utilized Lamberts’ services as well as people, companies and institutions across the country.

“I have worked with people whom I never thought I would be able to work with and have been able to successfully execute those projects with my team because we are pretty much able to work with anyone,” said Lambert, who received the “2015 Entrepreneurial Excellence Award” from the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.
