Aug. 30 — Yoga at the Library

Join us for an hour-long, weekly yoga class which will offer participants a judgment free space for gentle movement, quiet meditation and guided breath work. Our aim will be to decrease perceived levels of stress, and increase overall well being. This class is recommended for all ages and backgrounds, no yoga experience is necessary. Please bring your own yoga mat (and block, if you use one) and wear comfy clothing. You can work from a chair, or the floor. Our teacher, Meredith Jacoby has been teaching since 1999 and currently teaches at Magu Yoga in Mt. Airy. The class is scheduled from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Lovett Memorial Library, 6945 Germantown Ave.

Once again, Mt. Airy CDC and Trolley Car Diner have teamed up for family-friendly film nights in the neighborhood. Through September, they will anchor the last weekend of the month with fine selections out of Hollywood, this year with a theme of “The Animal Kingdom.” For Friday night shows, join us in the park—Lovett Park (6945 Germantown Ave.) and Pleasant Playground (6757 Chew Ave.)—at 6:30pm for story time and food trucks. Movies begin at sunset. On Saturdays, head to Trolley Car Diner (7619 Germantown Ave.) early for dinner, but save room for ice cream because the Shoppe will be open. Likewise, movies will start at sundown. Friday Aug. 30 features Dumbo (2019) at Pleasant Playground. Friday Sept. 27 features Avengers: Endgame (2019) at Lovett Park
