Quintessence Presents: “The Wizard of Oz” — Dec. 5

Swept away from her Kansas farm by a cyclone, Dorothy lands in Oz and on top of an evil witch. An epic adventure ensues as Dorothy tries to find the Wonderful Wizard of Oz and convince him to show her the way back to Kansas. On the way she meets munchkins, flying monkeys, the Scarecrow, the Tinman and the Cowardly Lion and discovers that she must help her friends first in order to face her fears and find her way home. Quintessence’s production will explore L. Frank Baum’s fantasia as political allegory and transform the Sedgwick Theater into an Oz you’ll never forget. PSA 1 Meeting — Dec. 10

The 14th Police District’s community is divided into four police service areas (PSA). The 14th District invites you to attend the monthly PSA meeting to share you questions and concerns about your community, as well as work to build a trusting relationship with your local officers. PSA 1: Slocum St to Wyncote Av (North to South Borders), Cheltenham Avenue to Chew Avenue (East to West Borders). Location: 7701 Mansfield Ave. from 7 to 8 p.m.

Cheeseboard Tasting at the Mercantile — Dec. 13

Join us for a cheese board sampling at The Mercantile. We will be offering three different cheese boards: vegan, vegetarian, and charcuterie, all assembled by the Co-op.
