Michael Strahan says he and former co-host Kelly Ripa don’t communicate and he doesn’t know what their relationship is now. The newest co-anchor of “Good Morning America” got his new job amidst much controversy. After replacing Regis Philbin on “Live” four years ago, ABC/Disney, which produces both “Live” and “GMA,” made the decision to move Strahan to “GMA” without notifying Ripa. Ripa was reportedly livid. Strahan said he told Ripa himself about the transfer. Strahan said he and Ripa were friends, once, but doesn’t know what happened. Toward the end of the four years, they really weren’t communicating anyway, and his leaving shouldn’t have been a shock. Strahan said his problem was the portrayal of his abandoning the show and its people. He says he has no regrets and wishes Ripa well. As of press time no response from her yet. Strahan, his three daughters and son will soon be on the cover of People magazine after Brad and Angelina’s cover, which is out this week.

Is cheating, craziness or child abuse at the heart of the breakup of Brangelina? The Brad Pitt-Angelina Jolie divorce is the biggest story in Hollywood, and everyone’s trying to figure out what went wrong. The two got together while making the movie “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” back in 2004, when Pitt was still married to “Friends” actress Jennifer Aniston. Aniston and Pitt soon separated and divorced. Pitt and Jolie became a couple and parents to six children — three are adopted. They only married in 2014. So what happened? Folks like comedienne Chelsea Handler, a close friend of Aniston, say it’s karma and Jolie is crazy in any case. Some say a private eye hired by one spouse uncovered an affair by the other. Other reports say Pitt’s temper led to the break up. Now comes a bombshell. Jolie filed for sole physical custody of their children with no reason stated. Now reports are Pitt is being investigated by both the Los Angeles Police Department and the Los Angeles County Department Of Children And Family Services. As of press time, there’s no comment from Pitt, Jolie or the investigators. Word on the street is a public display on a plane with Pitt and the kids triggered a witness to call authorities. The divorce filing is less than a week old and there’s a long way to go.

Janet Jackson‘s future and past both have to do with controversy and babies. Word is getting stronger about the exact nature of Jackson’s announcement she and husband No. 3, billionaire businessman Wissam Al Mana, are having a baby. Is a surrogate carrying this child? Jackson is 50 years old and using a surrogate would make things much easier. Jackson cancelled her comeback Unbreakable world tour half way through and announced to her fans she and Mana were planning their family, and hasn’t been seen in public since.

Meanwhile, husband No. 1 is stirring up the past. It seems 32 years ago, Janet Jackson ran off and married James DeBarge of the group DeBarge. The marriage didn’t last long. It was annulled the next year, but a rumor from that union has never gone away. Did Jackson have a baby and give the child up for adoption, or even have a family member raise that baby? Now DeBarge is speaking out. He is imploring Jackson to tell him once and for all. Did she give birth to his child, and where is that child today? DeBarge, 52, says he has to know the truth. Jackson has never gone on record about this alleged baby. It makes you wonder. If DeBarge himself is asking, too, does this mean Jackson may have some explaining to do?

Has Kevin Hart turned his movie shoot into a second honeymoon? Hart and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson are in Hawaii filming a remake of the Robin Williams‘ box office hit “Jumanji.” While he’s there, Hart released some great pics of himself and his new wife, Eniko, soaking up the island life. Meanwhile, Hart and Johnson’s remake of “Jumanji” is slated to hit theaters in July 2017. This past summer the two had a huge hit with “Central Intelligence,” which took in more than $200 million at the box office. That insured a re-teaming was only a matter of time. Meanwhile, Hart’s latest feature is his

comedy film, “What Now?” It’s his big screen comedy concert that was taped at Lincoln Financial Field in South Philly. “What Now?” hits theaters Oct. 14.

California says old habits die hard for singer/reality star Toni Braxton. The Sunshine State has hit the “Unbreak My Heart” songstress with a tax lien. Braxton stands accused of not paying $124,316 in taxes. WHAT? “The Braxton Family Values” co-star is only two-years free from a $10 million debt from her second bankruptcy. After dragging on in a five-year ordeal, a judge discharged Braxton from that debt. She may not be as lucky this time.

At the movies today, Denzel Washington is back in “The Magnificent Seven.” It’s a remake of the 1960 Yul Brynner-Steve McQueen western classic. “The Magnificent Seven” is directed by Antoine Fuqua, who directed “Training Day” and “The Equalizer” that starred Washington. Chris Pratt, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, Martin Sensmeier and Byung-hun Lee also star.

But wait, because there’s more Denzel Washington on the big screen for the fall. Washington and Viola Davis are reunited as they reprise their Broadway roles from August Wilson‘s “Fences” for a silver screen adaption. Washington and Davis both won Tony Awards for their performances in 2010. Now, Washington is directing and co-starring with Davis. “Fences” is set for a Christmas Day release, which could bring plenty of Oscar buzz.

Are egos getting in the way again on the set of “Empire?” The Top 10 rated Fox drama has its own drama on set. There are so many breakout stars on the set, and it’s getting harder and harder to please them and wrangle them together to keep the show rolling properly. Remember guys and gals, no one’s indispensable. For the good of the show, check the egos at the door. After all, you all are sitting on Fox’s gold-mine hit and can still get your side projects out.

Speaking of “Empire” and side projects, Taraji P. Henson has launched a makeup line with Mac Cosmetics. It’s called #MACTaraji and #VirgoSeason. The Oscar and Emmy nominee is also preparing for the release of her new memoir, “Around The Way Girl.” The book will chronicle Henson’s career and personal life as she balances motherhood and acting while staying on her hustle to get to the top. The book will be released Oct. 11.

So why did legendary singer-music mogul Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds join “Dancing with the Stars?” I had a chance to talk with “Face” last week when he called into WDAS. Babyface says first he’s doing it for his late mom, who loved the show. He also says he’s stepping out of his comfort zone to take a chance and shake things up. His family is really rooting for him, too. I posted my Babyface interview on my Patty TV page at WDASFM.com.

Speaking of “Dancing with the Stars,” there’s been some drama. First protesters stormed the stage during controversial contestant Ryan Lochte‘s time on stage. They were quickly tackled, hauled off and arrested. That led to increased security. Now Amber Rose is stirring the pot. The South Philly native says the competition is rigged and Olympic darling and fellow contestant Laurie Hernandez will win. The producers were none too pleased to hear that.
