R. Kelly has been denied bail and is in solitary confinement. He’s in the hole for his own protection from other inmates. The singer/songwriter was arrested again late last week while walking his dog on federal sex trafficking charges. This week Kelly pleaded not guilty at his Chicago arraignment, and the judge denied him bond. That means he’s to stay in custody until the trial. The young woman who was at the center of Kelly’s child pornography trial who was alleged was on the infamous sex tape and is singer Sparkle’s niece is reportedly cooperating with the feds and is now talking. Why is she talking now? Is it because the money that she and her parents were allegedly receiving to keep quiet and live out of the country has run out? Meanwhile, because these are federal sex trafficking charges, members of Kelly’s inner circle are apparently talking to authorities as well. Have there been deals cut to testify against Kelly? The Feds reportedly have at least 20 tapes thanks to former associates who don’t want to go to jail themselves. At this point, Kelly is only expected to be let out to be arraigned in New York on those charges, and then it will be decided which jail he remains in until at least his first trial Chicago or New York.

People Magazine’s Sexist Man Alive and newlywed Idris Elba is coming to Philly for just about the whole month of August. He’s doing a movie called Ghetto Cowboy. A young boy must go live with his dad played by Elba. Elba’s character teaches his son about the urban cowboy life in North Philly. Filming is happening from August 5th through the 30th. Meanwhile, Elba is also teaming up with Taylor Swift, Jason Derulo and Oscar Winner Jennifer Hudson for the big screen adaption of the legendary Broadway megahit Cats, which is scheduled for a Christmas release. Beyoncé and her daughter Blue Ivy team up for the lead single from The Lion King Soundtrack called Spirit. Check out the video on my Patty TV page on wdasfm.com. This is a departure from the usual Bey videos because she brings a soft touch to the culturally themed video. This is the week for Disney’s The Lion King reboot. Beyoncé joins Donald Glover, Alfre Woodard, Keegan-Michael Key, Eric Andre, Seth Rogan, Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 Years A Slave; Inside Man; Amistad) and James Earl Jones as Mufasa. NBA Star Dwight Howard has been away from the Memphis Grizzlies and that followed being sued by a man who claims they had a relationship. This man allegedly broke their confidentiality agreement. Now, Howard is thought to have maybe one or two more NBA tours in him, and there was talk of even joining the Lakers. Howard did an interview proclaiming he’s not gay. Sometimes those types of interviews backfire, and sometimes that brings more accusations forward. All I can say is Dwight just be you.

You know she had the health crisis earlier this year battling pneumonia and septic shock that kept her off The View for some time earlier this year. Now her eyesight is the problem. Goldberg, 63, has long been alleged to be a weed smoker. Isn’t that supposed to help the eyesight?

The Kirk Franklin Story is coming to the big screen. The gospel superstar has an incredible story. He was born to a teenage mom, and then he was abandoned. He was eventually adopted and rose to great prominence in the gospel world. Then came the scandal with the porn addiction. But, Franklin got in front of it and offered his own problems as a guide to others faced with challenges to be able to overcome them through faith. Now Franklin is back to music. Super producer and faith-based film executive Devon Franklin, who is also a preacher, is leading the team to bring this story to the big screen. Meanwhile, Kirk Franklin is bringing his Long Live Love tour to Caesar’s in Atlantic City Saturday, July 27.

Kevin Spacey has the charges dropped! The Oscar winner who had been facing criminal sexual assault charges saw that case tank after his accuser took the stand. When the accuser was questioned about whether he destroyed text messages that could have been used, particularly by the defense, as evidence, the accuser took the 5th. That’s the Fifth Amendment which is a person’s right not to incriminate himself or herself. This was the accuser who worked at a bar in 2016 and claimed Spacey kept giving him alcohol and then groped his privates. Published reports point to his mother, a prominent newscaster, as the person who deleted her son’s text messages. The case was dismissed and the accuser’s civil suit was dropped earlier.

Salt-N-Pepa didn’t cheat Spinderella … because she’s an independent contractor. That’s the explanation coming from their camp. DJ Spinderella, a.k.a. Deidra Roper, was fired from the Salt-N-Pepa’s reunion tour with New Kids On The Block two months ago. Spinderella filed a federal lawsuit seeking unpaid royalties, fraud, breach of contract and intentional misrepresentation against Salt (Cheryl James) and Pepa (Sandra Denton). Spinderella first joined the group in 1987, and claims she was cut out of significant deals the group made. As for the reported claim from James and Denton’s camp that Spinderella was an independent contractor, that could factor into to the suit. Published reports say the name Salt-N-Pepa is owned by only James and Denton, which could boost their case in any court fight against Spinderella.
