Bill Cosby was found guilty on all counts in his sex assault retrial. So what’s next for the actor and comedian? He’s facing up to a 30-year prison sentence. The 80-year-old comedian is legally blind. And now his wife Camille is speaking out. The Cosbys have been married for 54 years and she is standing by her man. In a recent statement, Mrs. Cosby referred to the drama surrounding her husband as “mob justice,” not real justice. She says it was an unethical campaign to destroy her husband. And she called for a criminal investigation of the district attorney and his cohorts.

Is it “Time’s Up” for singer R. Kelly. In this era of “Me Too” and “Time’s Up,” a movement is growing against the singer who has never been convicted of sexual misconduct even though there has been numerous incidents involving R. Kelly and young girls dating back to the ‘90s. In a statement R. Kelly accused people of attacking him and compared the allegations against him to the lynching of a Black man.

Actor Jay Ellis, who plays Lawrence on the Issa Rae HBO comedy “Insecure” may not be back for season 3. The show is currently in production and there has been no sign of Lawrence. Insecure returns to HBO this summer.

The Bobby Brown story is coming to BET in September. Actor Woody McClain who played Brown in the New Edition miniseries will be playing Brown.

The long awaited Whitney Houston documentary, created by her family, hits theaters in July. In addition to the Houston family, there will be appearances by ex-husband Bobby Brown and her “The Bodyguard” co-star Kevin Costner.

Also coming in July is the latest edition of the Marvel Comic movies, “Ant-Man and The Wasp,” starring Paul Rudd, Michelle Pfeifer, Michael Douglas and Laurence Fishburne.

“Black Panther” is coming to DVD and Blu-ray on May 15.

“Empire” has been renewed for a fifth season on Fox.

En Vogue has released a statement saying they will not be a part of the proposed reality show on BET with SWV and Salt-N-Pepa.

Tiffany Haddish will be the hosting the MTV TV Awards and MTV Movie Awards on June 18.

There is life after “Scandal.” Actress Kerry Washington is the cover girl for the latest edition of Essence Magazine’s May #Woke100 issue.

There are a lot of movies on tap for 2019, including the live action version of “Aladdin” with Will Smith as the Genie and the live version of “The Lion King,” starring Donald Glover, Beyoncé, James Earl James, Chiwetel Ejiofor, John Oliver, Alfre Woodard, Billy Eichner and Seth Rogen.

Chris Rock‘s new movie with Adam Sandler is now streaming on Netflix. The pair star as two dads whose kids are getting married. Also coming to Netflix is The CW show “Black Lightning.” The show stars Cress Williams as a dad with superpowers along with his daughters played by Nafessa Williams and China Anne McClain. Season one is streaming on Netflix.

What’s next for Meek Mill? Meek will be teaming up with Amazon to develop a docu-series on the criminal justice system. Meek is now enjoying his freedom after spending the last five months in jail on a parole violation.

Tracy Morgan‘s new comedy show “The Last O.G,” which airs Tuesday nights on the TBS Network, has been renewed for a second season. I love this show! It also stars Tiffany Haddish and Cedric the Entertainer.

Childish Gambino, a.k.a. Donald Glover, the Emmy winning actor/director of “Atlanta,” will both host and be the musical guest for “Saturday Night Live” on Saturday. He will be starring in the upcoming “Star Wars” movie Solo. Glover is playing Lando Calrissian, the role made famous by Billy Dee Williams. He is also playing Simba in the live action movie of the “Lion King” opening July 2019.

Gabrielle Union signs first look deal with Sony. The actress, who’s on this month’s feature cover for Ebony Magazine and its Travel Edition, has a two-year pact which covers TV, cable and digital projects for Sony TV. Union is also filming the pilot to the “Bad Boys” movie spinoff, “L.A.’s finest” with Jessica Alba. Union also has a Mother’s Day-themed thriller due out called “Breaking In.” She’s a mom who must save her children being held hostage. “Breaking In” opens May 11.

Essence Magazine released the Essence Music Festival schedule and lineup for 2018. The festivities return to New Orleans July 5 through the 8. Performers include Janet Jackson, Jill Scott, The Roots, Snoop Dogg, Erykah Badu, Teddy Riley’s New Jack Swing Experience (Wreckx-N-Effect, Blackstreet and Guy), Idris Elba, Fantasia, Miguel and Mary J. Blige, with more acts to be announced. All the details are on Essence.com
