On Wednesday, Oct. 5, Jazz Bridge, an award-winning nonprofit organization “dedicated to assisting jazz and blues musicians in the Philadelphia area in their time of crisis,” will present a new season of its eclectic and entertaining Neighborhood Concert Series.

According to the organization, over the past 13 years, Jazz Bridge has presented more than 40 concerts and special events each season, hiring over 200 musicians each year from the Greater Philadelphia Metro area to perform their original compositions and some standards, to audiences who appreciate jazz and blues.

All concerts begin at 7:30 p.m. and last until 9 p.m. Tickets may only be purchased at the door on the day of the show.

The Neighborhood Concerts are presented at the following venues:

WEDNESDAY, OCT. 5

Jazz at the Center, Cheltenham Center for the Arts, 439 Ashbourne Road, Cheltenham. Hosted by pianist Dave Posmontier (1st Wednesdays): featuring Dave Posmontier, Jack Saint Clair, Denise Montana, The Landham Brothers, Pete Chavez, Phyllis Chapell, Leon Jordan Sr. and Karen Rodriguez.

THURSDAY, OCT. 6

Jazz in the Wood, Collingswood Community Center, 34 East Collings Ave., Collingswood, N.J. Hosted by vocalist Suzanne Cloud (1st Thursdays): featuring Edgardo Cintron, Larry McKenna, Diane Monroe, Bootsie Barnes, Jason Fraticelli, Jim Ridl, Bill Jones and Kelly Meashey.

WEDNESDAY, OCT. 12

Jazz in the Sanctuary, The Lutheran Church of the Holy Communion, 2110 Chestnut St., Philadelphia. Hosted by vocalist Rhenda Fearrington and bassist Mike Boone (2nd Wednesdays): featuring Nazir Ebo, Lili Anel, Sonny Troy, Jim Holton, Lucas Brown, Shamika Byrd, Keith DeStefano and Gloria Galante.

THURSDAY, OCT. 13

Jazz at the Lodge, Foster Military Lodge, 351 Charleston Road in Willingboro, N.J. Hosted by percussionist Edgardo Cintron (2nd Thursdays): featuring Exit 45, Minas Brazilian, Jeramy Cohen Latin Band, Jersey Jazz Connection, Nimrod Speaks, Bill Hector, Barbara Walker and Eddie Morgan.

WEDNESDAY, OCT. 19

Jazz at Fellowship Hall, Ridge Avenue United Methodist Church, 7811 Ridge Ave. (corner of Ridge and Shawmont Avenues) in Roxborough. Hosted by WRTI Radio’s Jeff Duperon (3rd Wednesdays): featuring Bruce Barth, Sherrie Maricle 3 Divas, Julian Hartwell, Matthew Clayton, Louis Fouche, Charlie Apicella, Milton Suggs and Justin Faulkner.
