Are you a talented home cook who wants to take your culinary creativity to the next level, or simply wants to add $250,000 to the family coffers?

If so, the producers of "MasterChef," hosted by Gordon Ramsay, invite you to an open casting call for Season 9 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Oct. 21 at Sofitel Philadelphia, 120 S. 17th St.

During the open call, home cooks must bring one prepared dish to be served to the food judges. You will be given three minutes to plate your dish at the casting call location, but there will not be a kitchen to cook or warm the dish up, so come prepared.

Home cooks are strongly encouraged to pre-register in advance at http://masterchef.com/how-to-audition, where details on submitting a video application are also available.

In "MasterChef," capable home cooks from across the country compete for a cookbook deal, a $250,000 prize and the coveted title of MasterChef. Along the way, the amateur chefs who make their way into the "MasterChef" Kitchen must participate in the infamous tag team and restaurant takeover challenge, as well as the dreaded "pressure tests." Occasionally, however, they are treated to impromptu master classes by Ramsay.

"MasterChef" Season 8 was recently won by Dino Angelo Luciano, a ballet dancer from Bensonhurst, N.Y.
