“The Great American Baking Show” hosts Anthony “Spice” Adams and Ayesha Curry. — ABC/MARK BOURDILLON

Former Chicago Bears defensive tackle/media personality Anthony “Spice” Adams and chef/bestselling author Ayesha Curry, the wife of Golden State Warriors’ superstar, Steph Curry, will host “The Great American Baking Show,” returning for its third season on ABC at 9 p.m., Thursday.

Based on the hit U.K. series “The Great British Bake Off,” this three-week special features bakers around the country putting their best recipes forward as they compete in holiday-themed challenges and eliminations, all hoping to be named “America’s Best Amateur Baker.”

Television personality and author of six best-selling cookbooks, Paul Hollywood (“The Great British Bake Off”) joins James Beard Award-winning pastry chef and cookbook author, Johnny Iuzzini as judges, where each week they will taste decadent and delicious treats alongside show hosts Curry and Adams.

The premiere has the bakers working on delicious surprises, including showstopper challenges of towers of macarons and gingerbread houses.
