HAVANA — Cuban police broke up a demonstration by about 30 dissidents in central Havana on International Human Rights Day, taking away some of them in cars.
The demonstration is called every year by the opposition group the Ladies in White. Some of the dissidents resisted and were shoved inside patrol cars during Wednesday’s demonstration.
About 200 government supporters chanted revolutionary slogans to counter the protesters.
It was unclear how many dissidents were detained by Cuban authorities. — (AP)
