Bright teen sets sights on FBI

Kathleen, 13, enjoys going to school, where she is enrolled in the seventh grade. A brilliant student, she receives excellent grades and is very proud of her academic achievements. Math is her favorite subject. Kathleen is passionate about music and enjoys singing. Soft-spoken, she likes to talk and will easily talk about herself. She gets along well with adults and her peers.

Kathleen loves watching the television show “NCIS,” which inspired her to dream of becoming an FBI agent when she grows up. She is even more determined about her choice of a career since she visited the Philadelphia Division of the FBI recently. Her tour of headquarters included the violent crimes squad room, forensics and self-defense. Kathleen learned about the many opportunities for women in the FBI. Agents showed her how to take fingerprints at a crime scene and she was able watch agents performing in a takedown situation.

Kathleen also has another dream — to have a permanent family with a mom and a dad. Her ideal mom would be loving and caring and encourage her to reach to goals. She envisions her “forever” dad taking her to a father-daughter dance. She is close to her brother and the contact should be maintained.
