(0 votes)

Danny is a friendly 16-year-old with a huge, welcoming smile. He enjoys being sung to and responds by relaxing and cooing along with the music. He especially likes songs from “The Sound of Music” and his face lights up when he hears his idol, Julie Andrews. Listening to her sing makes him happy.

Danny is easy going and loves attention. He delights in laughter, hugs and tickles. Diagnosed with cerebral palsy, he currently lives in a long term care hospital pediatric unit and benefits from physical and occupational therapies. His favorite activity is pet therapy with the facility’s resident dog, P.J. Danny loves people and responds well to his caregivers.

Danny has endured extensive spinal surgery. In spite of his physical challenges, he continues to improve each day. Danny participates in water games and art projects and plays musical instruments with hand-on-hand assistance. He is also a Boy Scout.

Danny would benefit from a loving, very committed family that would be able to provide for his lifelong educational and medical needs. The family could be two-parent or a single parent. Staff at his facility will train the family on how to care for his medical needs.
