Beginning on Tuesday, Nov. 10, “Good Morning America” co-anchor Robin Roberts will host two fascinating ABC television specials giving viewers an inside look at the lives of some of today’s top stars.

Spotlight

“In the Spotlight with Robin Roberts” premieres at 10 p.m. on Nov. 10 with “Bright Lights, Big Stars. All Access Nashville.” With the annual Country Music Awards taking place on Nov. 11, Roberts will explore life away from the cameras and conduct candid conversations with county music’s hottest stars, as well as a young artist who are definitely on the rise.

In the hour-long special, Roberts poses candid questions to “American Idol” winner Carrie Underwood, music and film star Tim McGraw, and Martina McBride, who is considered one of the “first ladies of country music.” In Hurricane Mills, Tenn., Roberts interviews the original “coal miner’s daughter,” Loretta Lynn, and country star Rosanne Cash, daughter of Johnny Cash.

Roberts also shines the spotlight on the next generation of country music royalty, as Tayla Lynn, granddaughter of Loretta Lynn, and Jenny Gill, daughter of Vince Gill, combine their talent with their famous last names to succeed in Hollywood

In a major coup, a second installment of “In the Spotlight with Robin Roberts” airs on Nov. 18, featuring a primetime interview with Janet Jackson, expected to be the her first lengthy television interview since her brother Michael’s death on June 25.

In the hour-long special taped at Jackson’s home, Roberts will interview the pop diva, who is promoting a greatest hits CD that is coming out for the holiday season. ABC says it’s the first time Jackson has allowed television cameras into her Malibu home.

Jackson paid tribute to her late brother in September at MTV’s Video Music Awards. She danced to a recording of their duet “Scream,” but did not address the audience.
