Services were held Dec. 7 for Sharmain F. Allen.
She died Friday, Nov. 30, 2012. She was 66.
She was born Aug. 10, 1956 to Richard and Delores Allen. Allen was educated in the Philadelphia public school system and was a graduate of the O.I.C. (Opportunity Industrial Center).
Prior to becoming ill, she was employed by Cardinal Health Pharmaceuticals where she worked for 10 years in the packaging department.
Wherever Allen resided, she became an influential and vibrant force in the community, her family said.
“Sharmain was the ‘social butterfly’ and was admired and adored by most for her open heart, kindness and love for those closest to her,” her family said.
“Sharmain had an open door policy for anyone in need and she did this truly from the heart.”
Allen enjoyed watching the television broadcasts of her favorite preachers which included TD Jakes, Joel Osteen and Pastor Clement M. Lupton III of Beloved St. John Evangelistic Church.
Allen was preceded in death by her grandson, Donte’ Jr.
She is survived by her children, Twanda, Paula, Quisha, and Richard; fiancé, Darryl, and other relatives and friends.
Services were held at Batchelor Brothers, Inc. Funeral Services. Burial was in Northwood Cemetery.
