Partnership

NBC10 Philadelphia/WCAU and Telemundo62/WWSI and The Philadelphia Tribune Media group are announcing a new collaborative partnership in the Greater Philadelphia region.

Under the new partnership, The Philadelphia Tribune and NBC10/Telemundo62 agree to share news and community resources to better serve the region.

“We are excited about this new partnership with NBC10 and Telemundo62,” said Robert W. Bogle, president of The Philadelphia Tribune. “This is an opportunity for the stations to further expand its coverage of the African American community and for the Tribune to enhance its coverage of breaking news, weather, investigative and consumer reports across the Philadelphia region.”

Founded in 1884 by Christopher James Perry, Sr., The Philadelphia Tribune is America’s oldest and the Greater Philadelphia region’s largest daily audited newspaper serving the African-American community.

Today, The Tribune is published five days a week and maintains a website presence at www.phillytrib.com. In addition to the newspaper itself, the company publishes Tribune Magazine; Entertainment Now, an arts and entertainment review; Sojourner, a visitor’s guide to Philadelphia; and the Learning Key, an educational supplement directed to students, parents, and teachers, highlighting schools, programs of special interest and student achievement. Since 1995, the Tribune has been honored with the John B. Russwurm award seven times for “Best Newspaper” in America.

NBC10 and Telemundo62 provide 55 hours of locally-produced news programming every week in English and Spanish and serves nearly six million viewers throughout Greater Philadelphia, the Lehigh Valley, South Jersey and Delaware.

“The Philadelphia Tribune has a long history of journalism excellence, serving the African-American community in Philadelphia,” said Ric Harris, president and general manager of NBC10 and Telemundo62. “We are thrilled to combine our strengths and resources to deliver in-depth news coverage and engaging storytelling that address the needs of our community.”

NBC10 and Telemundo62 has been honored with numerous national and regional Emmy Awards for its news coverage. In 2017, The Radio Television Digital News Association awarded NBC10 with a national Edward R. Murrow Award, recognizing the station for Excellence in Innovation for the multi-platform, digital exclusive Generation Addicted.

The station’s website, NBC10.com, was also honored by RTDNA as the best largemarket television news website in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York. NBC10.com also received the 2016 National Murrow Award for best large-market website in the country.
