WDAS-FM recently announced that beginning March 4, the 3-7 p.m. slot once occupied by "The Michael Baisden Show," before the syndicated program was suddenly dropped from the weekday lineup, will be filled by radio personality Frankie Darcell, who comes to the Philadelphia market from Detroit.

"We are happy that Frankie Darcell is returning to Clear Channel Media and Entertainment as the new afternoon drive host on WDAS-FM in Philadelphia," a WDAS-FM spokesperson stated. "Frankie is an engaging on-air personality. In addition to her new position in Philadelphia, she will also be heard on Mix 92.3, WMXD in Detroit, but she will be at WDAS-FM, live, in Philadelphia. Frankie, I think, is everything that we would want to see. She's a woman, she's a strong voice, she's very community-oriented, and she had a long and storied reputation when she worked in Detroit."

According to the Detroit Free Press, Darcell is returning to WMXD-FM (via voice-tracking) after being let go from her long-running "Afternoon Mix" radio show unexpectedly two months ago.

Not impressed or entertained. Dont' get me wrong, MB worked my last nerve some days, but I did learn what was happening in the communities, when a child was missing, social issues, politics, etc.

I'm sorry to see Michael Baisden go. I enjoyed the fact that he kept us abreast of what was going on in our nation-wide community.

Philly, the best is yet to come with Frankie Darcell! I am so happy that Frankie has returned to the airwave. I knew it would not be long. My drive home has not been the same (lol) but now I can listen to my favorite radio personality, once again. What a great addition to have in your city. Detroit lost one of its best but when one door close, God opens another. Frankie was active in the community and she puts her all in everything she becomes involved in. She loved Detroit. Wishing you the best in Philly Frankie and looking forward to hearing about the great things you will bring to their city.

I talked with a couple people who work at DAS this week, and they told me that she is going to be live from Phily and that they were lucky to get her. They believe she's going to be a perfect fit for the station and the City.

sounds like cc is entering the afternoon syndication drive time game. With the motor city and the city of brotherly love as it's first two markets.

Would be better so if "Clear Channel Broadcasting" would be dropped from Philly airwaves.

Slot should have been given to a local personality. We have plenty of talented home grown Philly personalities who could have filled the spot and keep the focus on issues that affect Philadelphias. IMO (In my oponion)
