‘Little McGhees’ real life family drama

Possibly due to an apparent "Aha, Moment" regarding her once-floundering network, OWN, Oprah Winfrey has begun rolling out some compelling programming including "Welcome to Sweetie Pie's," "Iyanla: Fix My Life" and "Oprah's Next Chapter." Next in the lineup is the lively and highly entertaining "docu-series" "Six Little McGhees," which premieres at 10 p.m. Saturday on OWN. After its premiere, the series will air in its regular time slot, Saturdays at 9 p.m.

The McGhee sextuplets were first introduced to America after an online photo went viral and the entire family appeared on "The Oprah Winfrey Show" in 2011. "Six Little McGhees," chronicles the chaotic and often comical clan as their parents balance the challenges of raising a family with the demands of running their own carpet and upholstery cleaning service.

In the season premiere, according to the network," Rozonno (Ro) and Mia McGhee share the story of their unique family. Viewers learn how the high school sweethearts rose above humble roots to start their own business and after several unsuccessful attempts at starting a family, were blessed with "a true miracle" — Columbus, Ohio's first sextuplets, born on June 9, 2010.

The children are seen playing together, eating meals together and crying in chorus as their proud but exhausted parents introduce the members of their brood to America. There's Josiah, a.k.a Jo-Jo, whom Mia describes as "The Charmer," and is seen charming some food right off of a sibling's plate. Then there's Madison, "The Prankster," and Isaac, known affectionately as "Happy Feet." Rozonno, the first born, has a bit of a destructive streak, while Elijah is the "Momma's Boy." "Elijah walks like Redd Foxx to me," says Ro, as we watch the little boy shuffle across the floor like Fred Sanford. Finally, there's Olivia, whose constant bawling will make you want to jump out of the basement window. "If you look at her wrong, she will cry," Mia says. "They're six different kids, they're six different personalities."

As one might expect, everything that the family does is a big production, but Mia and Ro get plenty of help from family and friends, including Ro's mother, Miss Charmayne. Even so, the inevitable stress of raising six two year-olds while trying to keep the spark in their marriage is sometimes overwhelming, even for this well-adjusted, fun-loving couple.

"Life isn't always fair," said Rozonno, whose father abandoned him and his mother when Ro was just a boy. "We know that because of where we came from, and what we had to do to get where we are now." Mia's story is just as compelling, in light of the fact that shortly after her 18th birthday, her mother put her out of the house.

"Raising multiples is hard on a marriage, but you just have to make up your mind that this is my life and I'm just gonna live it," Mia said. "This is our family!"

I love the show. Mia should be grateful for her mother in laws help & not be disrespectful to her. The mother in laws issues are in the past, so don't keep bringing it up, move on. Thank God that you have 6 healthy, adorable little ones. You don't hear the Duggars putting one another down. They seem to know how to live and love.
Ice Loves Coco has a nice tone to the show. I agree that
Mia has a bit of Kate in her from Kate & John + 8. Rise above it.

The children are darling! Ro is a wonderful caring person. Mia on the other hand could sure be more grateful for the family and friends willing to help their family. Instead she makes mountains out of moleholes when her mother in law does not fold laundry to her specifications. Please! Mia you could just be doing these things yourself with no help at all. Be grateful for people who willingly come to your home to lend a hand, you are blessed! You kind of remind me of Kate who was just like that, organized but not grateful.
