‘Kid’s Corner’ will host Music Festival

WXPN, the nationally-recognized leader in the Adult Album Alternative music format and home of the Peabody Award-winning “Kid’s Corner” radio show, recently announced that it will host the next Kid’s Corner Music Festival on Sunday, March 10 at Union Transfer, 1026 Spring Garden St.

Kid’s Corner Music Festival guests will enjoy performances by the newest musical talent for kids and their parents. In addition to the great live music, there will be free “make and take” craft stations, courtesy of The Arden Theatre and The Philadelphia International Children’s Festival. There will also be creative free balloon sculptures in the lobby, provided by “Kid’s Corner” and WXPN. Doors open at 10:30 a.m. with live musical performances beginning at 11 a.m.

“Don’t miss out, we’re going to inspire kids of all ages to dance, sing and laugh at the Kid’s Corner Music Festival,” said Kathy O’Connell, “Kid’s Corner” host. ‘It’s going to be a lot of fun and we’ll jump, wiggle and shake to our wonderful musical guests Rolie Polie Guacamole, The Fuzzy Lemons and Roy Handy & The Moonshot!”

The artist lineup is as follows:

11 a.m. – Rolie Polie Guacamole

Noon – The Fuzzy Lemons

1 p.m. – Roy Handy & The Moonshot

Created in 1988, “Kid’s Corner’s” primary mission is to provide a stimulating variety of educational and entertaining programs for children ages 6–13. “Kid’s Corner” is WXPN’s live, interactive radio show for children, which has earned more than two dozen broadcasting awards. The program also serves as a resource for parents, educators and professionals in child-related fields. “Kid’s Corner” airs weeknights at 7 p.m. on WXPN.
