Actress Maya Rudolph returns to “Saturday Night Live” (SNL), airing at 11:30 p.m., Feb. 18 on NBC. Sleigh Bells are the musical guests.
The SNL alum, known for her memorable impressions and uproarious characters, currently stars as Ava Alexander in the NBC sitcom “Up All Night,” alongside Christina Applegate and Will Arnett. Rudolph was last seen “Bridesmaids,” which received a Golden Globe nomination for “Best Film.”
A talented comedic actress and gifted impressionist, Rudolph, who joined the SNL cast in 2000, is the daughter of record producer Richard Rudolph and the late R&B/pop singer Minnie Riperton, best known for the romantic classic “Lovin’ You.” Rudolph captured the SNL spotlight with her hilarious impersonations of Donatella Versace, Oprah Winfrey, Whitney Houston, Ananda Lewis and her “Up All Night” cast mate, Christina Applegate. In 2004, she was voted #20 on “Entertainment Weekly’s” list of Funniest People in America.
Sleigh Bells will make their network television debut on SNL. The Brooklyn duo quickly earned the adoration of critics with their 2010 debut album, “Treats,” ending up on over 150 “Best-Of” lists for that year. Their newest album, “Reign of Terror,” will be released on February 21.
