Hosts of the CBS daytime series “The Talk” recently announced they will venture east for the first time, presenting a week of special episodes shot on location in New York City to air Monday, Dec. 12 through Friday, Dec. 16.
“Just in time for the December holidays, we are taking ‘The Talk’ to New York City,’ said co-host Julie Chen, who made the announcement on a recent episode of the show. “Now, there is no place like New York during the holidays, so we thought that would be the perfect time to take the show on the road.”
Chen and co-hosts Sara Gilbert, Sharon Osborne and Sheryl Underwood will be accompanied by new cast member Aisha Tyler as they host the show on location. Along with Underwood, Tyler is the second new co-host tapped for the talk show following the recent departure of Leah Remini and Holly Robinson Peete. For the past two months, “The Talk” employed a number of recurring guest hosts, including Kris Jenner and Molly Shannon, as Osborne is also taking some time off this fall.
Tyler, who became the first Black actor to land a major role on NBC’s megahit “Friends,” has talk show experience. In addition to guest hosting “The Talk,” she was also one of several guest hosts on CBS’ “Late Late Show” in the transitional period between Craig Kilborn and Craig Ferguson.
Throughout the week, “The Talk” will feature special holiday-themed segments and interviews with an array of celebrity guests and famed New York personalities.
